The Lost Cyclist gets REALLY lost....

When I was a kid we used to sing along with Matthew West's song:

Please don't send me to Africa

I don't think I got what it takes

I'm just a man, I'm not a Tarzan;

Who likes lions, gorillas and snakes.

I'll serve you here in suburbia, in my comfortable, middle-class life!

Just please don't send me out into the bush

Where the natives are restless at night.

Several weeks ago Pastor Ron asked if would consider going to Guinea-Bissau with PREACH ministries. I can't say that was really in my plans for this year, but I decided to pray about it.

Rich Mullins once said you gotta take that leap out of the ship before you claim to walk on water. But what is amazing is how God starts to move when we act in faith. Abraham Believed. God Imputed. over and over.

Noah built. The scoffers drowned.

Israel left. The Egyptians died.

Caleb marched. The Amankites lost their mountain.

Gideon prepared. The Moabites ran from themselves.

(Hee. I love recounting stuff like that It gets me excited. Yeah! this is OUR God!)

In the end, we use our feeble muscles to shakily put a foot overboard. And everytime. EVERYTIME, He comes through.

So to fast-forward through this month, as I started getting stuff together, God's hand was visible at every turn. And now it is getting really exciting. The trip over there is going to run about $3,500. And within a week, God has provided over $2500 of that through various members of His body. Seriously, I figured that there was no way that this was going to hapen. Where on earth was I going to cough up 4k? But God has provided.

I could ramble on for pages on God's amazing provision in all of this. (I'll do that sometime so my kids can read it) But the long and short of it is... this lost cyclist is going to do his best to get royally lost in God's will. And if that means full-time ministry in the bush, I'm there.

I watched a really challenging video from Keith Green a few days ago. I'd love it if you would all watch it as well.

And pray with me about this trip, and the team headed over there. We will be gone from the end of October 'til the first week of December, establishing a Morals curriculum in their school system. I'm not kidding. The government wants us to come put Jesus in their schools. whoa. too cool. But we still need all of the materials shipped over there. So pray that God will meet the needs for shipping those containers of curriculum.

THANK-YOU to everyone who has prayed.
THANK-YOU to everyone who has helped finance this.

May God get all the Glory. He's amazing.
